Joseph C. Packard, Partner

Joseph Packard became a partner at Schroder & Strom, LLP in 2022. He was admitted to the New York State Bar in June 2012. He concentrates his practice on representation of commercial and residential property owners in real property tax litigation. Throughout his career, Joseph has successfully resolved thousands of property tax appeals, saving clients millions of dollars in taxes. Joseph began his legal career as an Associate at a civil litigation law firm. Prior to that, his legal experience included internships with the Schenectady County District Attorney, Special Victims Unit and the Cheshire County Attorney.

Always active in his community, Joseph has provided pro bono legal services to elderly, low-income homeowners seeking assistance with Senior Citizen Exemptions. He has served on the Board of the Mineola-Garden City Rotary Club for many years. He was Treasurer of the club for several terms and is a Past President. In addition, Joseph is a volunteer firefighter and currently the secretary for Ladder Company 2 of the East Meadow Fire Department, as well as current chairman of the Fund Drive Committee and Installation Committee.

Professionally, Joseph is an active member of the Nassau, Suffolk, the New York State Bar Associations. He belongs to the Community Bankers’ Mortgage Forum, the Commercial Industrial Brokers Society of Long Island (“CIBS”), the Long Island Real Estate Group (“LIREG”), the Mineola Lions Club, as well as the Mineola Chamber of Commerce. He frequently speaks publicly to educate homeowners on the processes available in New York to appeal real estate taxes.

Joseph earned his Juris Doctorate from Albany Law School in 2011 and his Bachelor’s Degree in Economics from Keene State College. Joseph resides in Levittown with his wife and their daughter.
